HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY LAPS

Homestead-Miami Speedway’s ‘Give Back at the Track’ charity fundraising event gave us an opportunity to do some supervised track time on its 1.5 mile progressively banked oval. As a club, we were given 15 minutes following a pace car doing highway speeds and above for just $20 per car. (The cost for the general public was $25 for just 3 laps, $45 for 6 and $80 for 10 laps when the event was opened to them later in the morning)

Discounted club participation required a minimum of 10 vehicles, so to ensure we met that minimum, we invited some of our friends from the local Alfa club to join us as well as a couple of classic BMW’s. Two of our own BCCM guys brought their new & classic Fiat 124s.

We assembled at the track shortly after 8AM where we met Felicia Vega, the track’s Group Sales Account Executive, who escorted us through the tunnel entrance to the paddock area and then on to pit road. Shortly after 9AM we were doing our laps. Felicia then arranged for us to have our cars photographed in the Winners Circle.
